What's it all about?
The Spotted Saddle Horse Association of Illinois (SSHAI) is a group formed in 2000 to promote the Spotted Saddle Horse and to develop friendships associated with this breed. We are affiliated with and are an extension of the Spotted Saddle Horse Breeders & Exhibitors Association (SSHBEA) in Shelbyville, Tennessee. We promote by exhibiting at horse fairs, county and state fairs, horse shows and regional parades. We have members in our local organization on the SSBHEA board of directors and therefore have representation from both state and national level. We are a relatively small organization that meets several times a year in central Illinois, but have members from both the northern and southern parts of the state. We organize at least one fun show a year and try to organize many trail rides around the state each year.
Spots on the Rail or on the Trail
The nice part of owning a Spotted Saddle Horse is that this horse is at ease in the show ring, competing in sport horse events, on the trail, or just standing around showing off their natural beauty. Our friendly Association attempts to bring together the various interest of every owner and encourage their participation in all the fun activities. The wonderful disposition of the breed makes it a great horse for both young and old alike.
FAMILY FUN
We encourage all family members to become involved with the sport. Single folks and greenhorns are welcome too. Come on out to one of the events this year and get aquainted with any of our members. Ask all the question you want and you can even ride a horse or two.
